Key Objectives of GIAMC

  • To establish and operate an International Arbitration and Mediation Centre dedicated to advancing the cause of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) through arbitration, mediation, conciliation, and negotiation.
  • To provide institutional infrastructure, administrative support, research, and training for capacity building in dispute resolution.
  • To organize seminars, conferences, and training programmes and disseminate knowledge through research papers, publications, and digital platforms.
  • To empanel qualified domestic and international arbitrators and mediators and offer emergency and expedited arbitration with technology-enabled virtual hearings.
  • To ensure efficient, fair, and transparent resolution of commercial, civil, trade, investment, maritime, infrastructure, finance, technology, and other disputes—both domestic and cross-border.
  • To provide accreditation and professional training for arbitrators and mediators and to promote global collaborations and research in ADR.
  • To establish regional centres and collaborative offices with institutions, professional bodies, and government agencies to expand ADR access nationally and internationally.
  • To conduct policy research and propose reforms in arbitration and mediation practices, enhancing access to justice and global best practices.
  • To collaborate with national and international organizations for the development and promotion of ADR in India and abroad, supporting social welfare, trade growth, and equitable justice.

      Governance :

The Goa International Arbitration and Mediation Council (GIAMC) is governed by a distinguished Governing Body eminent practitioners, academicians, and industry leaders. The Council operates as an independent and autonomous institution, upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and professional excellence in all its functions.

​The Registrar :

The registrar is responsible for the day-to-day administration of cases and institutional operations. It acts under the authority of the Chief Executive Officer and provides administrative support to tribunals and parties throughout the arbitral and mediation processes.
